Teacher of the Year honorees with Superintendents

Three exceptional teachers from Laurel County Public Schools were honored with the Teacher of the Year Award at the annual London-Laurel Chamber Banquet. Congratulations to Bridgett McWhorter, a teacher at Bush Elementary, who was named Elementary Teacher of the Year; Tonya Allen from North Laurel Middle School, recognized as Middle School Teacher of the Year; and Mary King from South Laurel High School, selected as High School Teacher of the Year!

The Teacher of the Year Award, sponsored by the Laurel County Farm Bureau, acknowledges educators who have excelled in the classroom based on nominations from students and parents. Throughout the recognition, several common themes emerged: their kindness, their ability to make learning fun, their dedication to showing they care for their students, and being motivators for their students' success. The award recipients received a beautiful plaque and a cash prize to celebrate their achievements.

Congratulations to all the winners!
