Drug Prevention On the Move

The 7th-grade students at South Laurel Middle School concluded their school year by learning about the dangers of making poor choices related to alcohol and drug use. Operation UNITE brought its Drug Prevention on the Move program to the school, which included an interactive trailer where students learned about the risks of drugs, alcohol, and vaping. Students also had the opportunity to take part in a simulated driving experience that highlighted the dangers of distracted driving and a tricycle course that demonstrated the effects of attempting to drive while intoxicated.

In addition to the program and interactive activities, students engaged in group discussions about making the right decisions and understanding the consequences of bad choices.
