Laurel County Public Schools is committed to providing students and staff with a safe environment for learning and continued academic success. Thanks to the continued support and partnerships with our local law enforcement and emergency response agencies, another layer of security has been added.
The Laurel County Board of Education recently approved an agreement with the London-Laurel 911 Communications Center and Laurel County Sheriff’s Department, allowing the Laurel County Schools Police Department to share the same police frequency as the Laurel County Sheriff's Department at no cost to the district. This partnership enables an immediate notification communication link, providing a quicker and more efficient response to school emergencies using a more robust frequency.
Over fall break, during the Active Shooter Training, the agencies came together and established the frequency programming with assistance from Justin Noe, Director of Laurel County Emergency Management.
Laurel County Public Schools wishes to express our sincere appreciation to Jerry Hollon with the London-Laurel 911 Communications Center, Sherriff John Root, and the Laurel County Sheriff's Department, and Justin Noe with Laurel County Emergency Management for this partnership.
